SOP: Monthly SEO Report
Pull the numbers, explain what changed and send a report the client actually reads.
Objective
Show the client what happened, why it happened and what comes next, in a report they can read in five minutes.
When to use
- The first working days of each month.
- Before a scheduled client call.
Prerequisites
- Access to Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Last month’s report and work log.
- The SEO Report Template.
Steps

Collect the data
Organic sessions, conversions, clicks, impressions and priority rankings for the month, last month and last year.

Look for the story
Find the one or two changes that matter most and their likely causes.

List work completed
Pull from your work log, with links.

Note issues and risks
Anything blocked, broken or waiting on the client.

Write the plan
The top three tasks for next month.

Write the summary
Three sentences at the top, written last.

Proofread and send
Check numbers against the source and send on the agreed day.
